
ConsultingThe mission of The Center for Applied Management Practices, Inc. (CAMP), is to provide technical assistance, training, and consultation in order to improve the management, productivity, and accountability of government, private, and non-profit organizations engaged in the delivery of health and human services. The Center for Applied Management Practices (CAMP) has a successful track record in on-site consultation, group and individual training, and the creation of innovative management tools and practices that support the on-going management and provision of health and human services. CAMP´s experienced staff, extensive knowledge, and its leadership in management innovations, provide solutions that improve the capacity of organizations to more efficiently and effectively deliver necessary services. CAMP offers seven (7) general types of consulting services:
Strategic Business and Action PlanningCAMP works with board members, executive management, and supervisory and line staff to formulate a strategic plan for the organization. CAMP uses the Drucker Foundation Self-Assessment Tool to capture the five essential elements (questions) for organizational development:
Organizational Assessment and DevelopmentCAMP provides on-site technical systematic review of an organization´s work processes, work environment and/or organizational structure. CAMP supports organizations to review how work and jobs are defined, how departments are organized, and how management processes are structured to identify, address and resolve day-to-day managerial problems. The goal is to assist managers in implementing effective action plans and appropriate solutions toward achievement of organizational objectives. CAMP assists organizations reengineer their existing business practices and develop new business practices from lessons learned. Development of Performance Measures and IndicatorsCAMP has extensive knowledge and experience in the development of Performance Measures and Indicators for government and non-profit and community based organizations. CAMP has pioneered development of the logic model and the electronic logic model for organizing program data including measures and indicators of program operations, performance and accountability. CAMP has experience working with programs administered by the Department´s of Education, Energy, Housing Urban and Development (HUD), Health and Human Services (HHS), Justice and Agriculture. Productivity ImprovementCAMP uses the components of the Logic Model to establish organization wide measures of productivity by establishing baseline statistics for interventions, outputs and outcomes and then comparing the baselines with the actual experience. Over a period of time, organizations learn to establish standards and benchmarks from which to measure future performance. Managers implement these productivity measures in order to standardize delivery of services, and improve projections for programmatic and fiscal results. Survey ResearchCAMP provides a full range of survey services for business and social research to nonprofits and local, state, and federal governmental agencies. Assistance includes: survey design, sampling, data collection and reporting, analysis, and publication using electronic or non-electronic mediums. CAMP also develops custom databases for use in on-line or desktop applications. CAMP will train agency personnel in management of their own systems or can remotely manage data systems from their offices in Camp Hill. Data AnalysisCAMP provides data analysis services including computerization, content analysis, and statistical analyses which may be: descriptive, parametric, nonparametric, inference testing, and qualitative graphics. CAMP operates a service bureau and provides services to support clients in their presentation of data whether in electronic or print medium. Program EvaluationCAMP employs both traditional and emergent research methods in the conduct of program evaluation, a necessary management practice to support accountability and impact analysis. CAMP trains as well as provides consultation for program evaluation including the development of outcome performance measures and the instruments for collecting data for measuring program performance and productivity. |
