Our Mission

The mission of The Center for Applied Management Practices, Inc., is to improve the management of private, non-private, and government agencies engaged in the delivery of health and human services. 

 

History

The Center for Applied Management Practices, Inc., CAMP was incorporated in 1998 and is located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. The original work of CAMP was the development of training materials and consultation to support the implementation of ROMA (Results-Oriented Management and Accountability) principles and practices in private, non-private, and government agencies engaged in the delivery of health and human services.  Today, CAMP is a full service consulting organization providing services throughout the United States.

 

Personnel

Frederick Richmond, Founder and President

  • Over 30 years of progressively responsible experience in the health and human services field including management consulting, curriculum development for management training, program evaluation, outcome training, policy and program development, administration, forecasting, planning, research and demonstration, evaluation, grantsmanship, and software development.

Manuel Valentin, Senior Manager

  • Over 20 years of experience in the health and hu­man services field including technical assistance and training to community based organizations, management consulting, curriculum development for evaluation, outcome training, policy and program development, administration, planning, research and demonstration, evaluation, grantsmanship, information technology, and management information sys­tem design. 

 

  • Mr. Valentin is a certified ROMA (Results-Oriented Management and Accountability) Trainer and Master Trainer with the National Peer-to-Peer Training Program. He is the first bilingual (Spanish-English) trainer in the program and has since trained six other Spanish speaking trainers.

 

  • Mr. Valentin was a consultant for political lobbying projects in Central and South America, Europe and the Middle East in affiliation with United States Government contacts where he conducted extensive public relations activities in multi-language facets via newspapers, television, radio, and focus groups. 

Barry Nazar, Consultant

  • Barry Nazar, D.P.A.  held positions as Deputy Director of Human Services (6 yrs), Deputy Director of Economic Development (6 yrs.), and Program Evaluator of Drug & Alcohol Programs (8 yrs.) for Dauphin County PA.  He has published research in the areas of anthropology, psychology, physiology, and pharmacology, and his doctoral studies utilized computer simulation methodology.  He earned the Certified Financial Planner and the Certified Economic Development Finance Professional designations and developed a practice in small business consulting with an emphasis on loan packaging for health care practitioners.  He has been affiliated with the Center for Applied Management Practices, Inc for the past 4 yrs. working on various ways to apply technology to management practices in the public sector and nonprofit agencies – the eLogic Model being one of those developments to date.
